EDC Rig 59 commenced operations Back On 18 August 2009, EDC Rig 59 commenced operations for Hellenic Petroleum Company at 22.30 hrs spudding its first Well Pharos-1X located in West Obayd.   The term of the contract is 20 months.   EDC Rig 59 is a 2000HP rig, built by Drillmec. It has three Drillmec 12T1600 Mud Pumps and one Varco TDS-11A Top Drive.
