Achieving a balance between the environment, society and the economy is considered essential to meet the present needs without compromising the ability of future generations.
Environmental resources management aims to ensure that ecosystem services are protected and maintained for future human generations, and also maintain ecosystem integrity through considering ethical, economic, and scientific (ecological) variables.
This has led EDC to adopt a systematic approach to environmental management by implementing Environmental Management system with the aim of contributing to the environmental pillar of sustainability.
We aim to ensure the competence of our personnel and educate our workforce on health, safety and identification of possible environmental impacts. This in turn should help us minimize our impact on the environment including the prevention of pollution, reduction of emissions, wastes and natural resource consumption.

- · Protecting and promoting the health and safety of employees, customers, sub-contractors, third-party contractors, visitors, the community, and the environment.
- · Supporting rig management or any personnel who decide to stop operations that may contradict with Life-Saving Rules (LSR), the QHSE management system, or international standards.
- · Preventing, monitoring, and recording work-related injuries and illnesses, while ensuring timely follow up on corrective actions.
- · Transparently reporting and investigating all incidents and sharing lessons learned across the company to prevent reoccurrence.
- · Upholding a safety culture of accountability, not blame, where errors are openly acknowledged and used as learning opportunities.
- · Ensuring the integrity, safety, and reliability of all assets involved in our drilling operations, recognizing that the safe performance and the well-maintenance of our equipment are critical to both operational success and environmental protection.
- · Verifying compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and international standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, API Q1) through regular internal and external audits.
- · Complying with the QHSE procedures, legislation, regulations and other contractual requirements.
- · Continuously working to eliminate or minimize HSE risks, workplace hazards, operational inefficiencies.
- · Ensuring workforce competence through ongoing education and training on HSE possible impact awareness.
- · Ensuring that QHSE policy, standards, and procedures are communicated and understood by interested parties.
· Minimizing environmental impact by preventing pollution, reducing emissions and wastes, and optimizing natural resource consumption.
· Identifying customer requirements and ensuring effective communication across departments to maintain continuous customer satisfaction.
· Monitoring, measuring, analyzing, and evaluating QHSE performance, while setting annual QHSE objectives to achieve continual and sustainable improvement of QHSE management system.
· Encouraging employees’ participation and consultation in the QHSE management system, while removing any barriers to engagement.
· Periodically reviewing the QHSE policy to ensure its relevance and alignment with EDC’s goals.
